Greetings from ST Training Solutions!

As an author, it's always great to see my books in bookstores, but when I see whole shelves full of them, well it's just an awesome feeling. This photo was taken in Singapore's Kinokuniya recently.

I've enjoyed taking some time off work in May to play 'tourist guide', a job I always enjoy. When an old school friend visited, it was great to do lots of things I don't get to do very often, like the Singapore river cruise, the Hippo bus tour, the Singapore Flyer, China Town, cycling on the East Coast, and high tea at Equinox. The view from the 70th floor is really awesome, as you can see on this photo of my good friend Steve and his daughter Francesca.

If you are among the many people who have lived in Singapore for years and haven't done some of these things, I do encourage you to take some time to experience the wonders of Singapore. It's a fabulous place, and I do so enjoy showing it all off! Roll on July when I have some more visitors to show around!

I'm back to work as usual now, with lots of public workshops coming up in June. If you are among our participants, I look forward to welcoming you!

All the best for June!

Shirley

Secrets of Improving your Memory

Nishant Kasibhathla's book Maximise your Memory Power is one of the latest in the ST Training Solutions Success Skills Series, and already it's being sold by all the bookstores in Singapore. Improving your memory is a very popular topic. If you want to learn more about this and you haven't bought the book yet, here are some tips from Nishant on how to get started.

Of all the mental faculties of humans, the faculty of memory has always been the most mysterious.

Many people think that if a person is born with a good memory, he is lucky. Many also believe that a person with a poor memory is cursed for life. Are you one of those people who thinks that no matter what you do, there is no way of improving your memory capacity?

Only a few people have a fairly good knowledge of how memory works, why most often our memory fails us, and how we can sometimes remember certain things so well. Hopefully by learning more about the memory, you will be able to improve your brainpower too.

Here are 3 secrets to improve your memory. I call them VAP:

V: Visualisation: It's common knowledge that the brain remembers pictures better that anything else. The easiest way to remember something is to convert the information into a picture (visual).

A: Association: Memory works by association. It's important to associate new information with something you already know.

P: Pleasure: Many people feel that learning is a tedious task. They feel this way because they don't have a clue as to how they can make learning fun. Remember this: When learning is fun, learning is easy!

Read more of this article to learn how you can apply the VAP technique to remember various things in your professional and personal life.
